how The My buffalo! league works

Each participating Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant is invited to host its own MY BUFFALO! League chapter. While the National Domino League (NDL) provides the rules, structure, and support, each local league is operated by local Tournament Directors and volunteers, allowing every chapter to reflect the spirit and pride of its own community.

The inaugural season will run from August 2026 through June 2027, with no league tournaments scheduled in July. July will be reserved for players and teams to prepare for the National Domino League Championship Tournament, to be held in Chicago on August 6-7, 2027. Season II will begin in September 2027.

Each month, players will compete for cash prizes, local and national recognition, NDL ranking points, and the opportunity to qualify for the National Domino League Championship Tournament. Chapters that prefer not to have monthly cash tournaments still may become eligible to compete at the national tournament. More than just a competition, the MY BUFFALO! League is designed to build friendships, strengthen communities, and identify the best domino players in the nation.

Monthly tournament and formats

Each MY BUFFALO! League chapter has the flexibility to determine the tournament format that best fits its local players. Some chapters may host Singles (Head-to-Head) tournaments, others may prefer Doubles (Partners) tournaments,  OR CUTTHrOAT, and some may choose to offer ALL THREE FROM TIME TO TIME.  The format for each monthly tournament is determined by the local chapter members.  The format for the next month must be determined at the current month’s tournament.

1.  headup/singles/one-on-one

  • Each match is played to 200 points (Cutthroat: 150), helping tournaments finish within a reasonable timeframe for a restaurant setting.

  • Before play begins in Headup matches, the players participating in that match will decide whether their individual match will consist of 7 or 9 dominoes.
    *      Players earn Participation Points for competing and Placement Points for finishing in the Top 4.
